My Stove Burners Won’t Heat Up | Troubleshooting an Electric Range

Standard

Many people can list off pros and cons for both an electric range and a gas range. What works for some people doesn’t always work for others; but they both do the same thing: cook your food.

So when your range isn’t working correctly, for example, your burners won’t heat up, it can be a big inconvenience. There are a few reasons why this may be.

Check the burner: In most cases with an electric range you can disconnect the burner. To see if it is just the burner that isn’t working, plug another burner into its place and see if it works. If the burner works, you need to replace the burner. Check out the variety of burners we have on our website!

Bad Block: To check the block, lift up the burner and look for charred wires or blackened metal. If you see this, there may be a block and it will need to be replaced.

**WARNING: if you need to replace the block, make sure the appliance is completely unplugged!**

You can disconnect the block by using a Phillips screw driver. We have terminal blocks on our website.
