How To Clean An Oven (The Natural Way)

Standard

Learn how to clean your oven with this safe and natural method, it will look brand new again!

What you’ll need:

  • water
  • baking soda
  • dish cloth
  • plastic or silicone spatula
  • white vinegar
  • spray bottle

Directions:

Mix 1/2 cup of baking soda with 3 tablespoons of water to make a spreadable paste. When you reach a desired consistency, begin spreading the paste all over the inside of the oven, (be careful not to get this on the heating elements).

As you begin to rub the baking soda in, it will turn a brownish color, it may be thicker in some spots more so than others. Make sure you coat the entire oven, especially any particularly greasy areas.

When you are done coating your oven, let it sit for at least 12 hours. After 12 hours, go ahead and wipe off as much of the paste as you can with a damp cloth. Use a spatula to aid in scraping off the paste if needed.

Next, put the white vinegar into your spray bottle and then spray it in places where you still see residue. The vinegar will foam helping aid in breaking up the remaining residue.

After you spray the vinegar on all the needed areas, wipe it down with your damp cloth and continue to spray and wipe those stubborn areas until all the residue is gone.

Enjoy your sparkling clean oven and repeat this cleaning as often as needed!
