Cleaning your microwave can be an unnerving task. Food normally sticks to the top and sides of the appliance causing it to harden and stain, becoming increasingly more difficult to clean off the longer you wait. With this simple lemon trick, you will never complain about cleaning out your microwave again!
What you’ll need: one lemon, a small bowl, ½ cup of water, and a dish towel; THAT’S IT!
First, what you’ll need to do is pour the ½ cup of water into your small bowl.
Then, cut your lemon in half and squeeze the lemon juice into the bowl. When you are done squeezing, place the rind into the bowl.
Next, place the bowl into the microwave and microwave on high for three minutes so that the water comes to a boil.
Once the time is up, wait five minutes before opening the microwave door. (The steam from the bowl will help to loosen tough stains, making them easier to wipe away.)
After you have waited five minutes, open the microwave door and carefully remove the bowl and then the turntable. Take your dish towel and wipe down the entire inside of the microwave. If you find a stubborn spot that won’t wipe away, dip your towel into the bowl and scrub until it comes off.
