Standard

We try to ensure that our readers and customers are safe by keeping up on appliance and appliance related recalls so we can share them with you.  On July 26, 2016 Electrolux issued a recall for select Frigidaire and Kenmore Electric Wall Oven models, specifically  24″ Electric Single and Double wall ovens.

The following models were included in this recall:

The reason for the recall is that the Thermal Switch may malfunction due to a manufacturing flaw, making it a potential fire hazard.  Approximately 1,000 Frigidaire and Kenmore Wall Ovens have been included in this recall sold across the country and online between March of 2016 and April of 2016.

The Wall Ovens were sold in a variety of finishes including white, black, & stainless steel.

At this time no injuries have been reported, but anyone owning an affected model should stop use immediately and contact Electrolux for Frigidaire models and Sears for Kenmore models to schedule a free inspection and repair.

The model and serial number should be located inside of the oven on the left side trim.

For Frigidaire ovens, you can call  Electrolux toll-free at 888-360-8556 from 8am to 8pm (ET), Monday through Saturday or email  web.productrecall@frigidaire.com.

For Kenmore ovens, call Sears at 800-659-7026 from 7am to 9pm (CT) Monday through Friday and from 7am to 8pm (CT) Saturdays, or online at www.sears.com by clicking “Product Recall.”  Be sure to have your model and serial number ready.

Know someone who might have one of the wall ovens we mentioned?  Feel free to share this with them.  You can find past recall notices here: Recall Information or visit http://www.cpsc.gov/en/.
