Whirlpool appliances are one of the most popular and most trusted brands used by consumers all over the country. But how do they keep loyal customers around and maintain their top position in the appliance world? They do this through many marketing and beneficial tactics.
Brands advertising “Made in the U.S.A” tend to attract more buyers. American-produced goods rely less on patriotism and more on data that shows us that consumers are willing to pay extra money for better quality, safety and availability. Whirlpool Corporation claims that 80 percent of its appliances sold in the United States come from United States factories. This puts them ahead of competitors as research has shown that customers increasingly take note of where a product is made and are ultimately more likely to buy a product if it is made and manufactured in the United States.
Whirlpool also has made strives towards social responsibility. Coming from their website the corporation is committed to making products that make life easier for people so they can spend time doing what really matters-being with family and friends. Whirlpool has made and maintained strong connections to the communities that they do business with. They have partnerships with United Way, Cook for the Cure, Habitat for Humanity, the Boys & Girls Clubs of American and Instituto Consulado da Mulher. With these partnerships they have donated millions of dollars and appliances in 50 plus countries, they fund thousands of organizations that focus on education, income , health and basic needs and raise awareness and funding for things such as breast cancer.
Along with all of these things, Whirlpool also is environmentally responsible as well. At their manufacturing facilities, the corporation has worked to reduce water and energy use, greenhouse gas emissions and raw material waste. According to their website, they are committed to bringing products into consumer’s homes that exceed expectations while significantly improving their own environmental performance. The appliances they make today are more energy efficient than the appliances they made just 1 year ago. Their washing machines use 77% less water than those made in 2000 and their dishwashers use 51% less water than those made in 1998.
With their Energy Star products, they too help the environment. For example, an energy star certified dishwasher uses less than half the energy of washing dishes by hand and saves 5,000 gallons of water a year. An energy star certified washing machine uses 13 gallons of water per load compared to 23 gallons in a standard machine. That saves about 3,000 gallons of water per year.
Whirlpool appliances have been trusted and used in millions of households for decades. Whether it is their partnerships with organizations, their contributions, their energy saving appliances or their U.S.A made products, they have proved themselves over and over again. Next time you are choosing a new appliance for your household, do the research and see if Whirlpool is the right fit for you and your household.
