BSH Home Appliance Recalls Dishwashers Due to Fire Hazards

Due to a fire hazard, BSH Home Appliances is expanding their recall on dishwashers from Bosch, Jenn-Air, Thermador, and Gaggenau brands. Do you own a dishwasher? Make sure yours isn’t on the list.

These brands are recalling thousands of dishwashers to an overheating power cord that can potentially cause a fire. This recall involves any Bosh, Gaggenau, Jenn-Air and Thermador dishwasher sold in stainless steel, black, white and custom panel that were manufactured from September 2012 through January 2015.

In the recall published in 2015, BSH Home Appliance recalled more than 140,000 dishwashers from January 2008 to December 2015. This recall was after realizing the power cords could potentially start a fire. During this time, the company received five reports of property damage from a fire started by the power cord from their dishwashers. Recently BSH Home Appliance received an additional five reports of an overheating power cord that resulted in property damage thus the reason they are expanding the recall.

If your dishwasher is on the recall list you should immediately stop using the appliance and contact BSH Home Appliance for a free repair and inspection. You can find a full list to see if the serial number of your product was listed at the CPSC’S Website.
