Get Your Refrigerator Winter Ready

Standard

Believe it or not, your refrigerator can actually get cold. Ironic right? Refrigeration systems that are kept outside or in an area where there is no heat can harm your refrigerator.
Don’t let your refrigerator freeze in unheated areas. Instead, use a refrigerator garage kit!

What is a Refrigerator Garage Kit?

A refrigerator garage kit is designed to help preserve the temperature of the refrigerator when stored in an unheated area such as the garage or basement.
This basically tricks your appliance into thinking that the unit is warmer than it actually is. The refrigerator garage kit (heater kit) makes the compressor inside the refrigerator unit to turn on regularly to maintain the correct temperature needed for the unit.

Why Does Your Refrigerator Need To Get Ready for Winter?

Your refrigerator is set to a specific temperature and if the outside temperature is just as cold as or even colder than the temperature inside your refrigerator, the compressor will not run. Since refrigerators generally do not have a heating capacity, food that sits in below freezing temperatures can potentially freeze.
