Many homes will contain an air gap that is installed onto their counter next to the faucet. The air gap prevents water from the sink backing up into the dishwasher. If the air gap is clogged it could be the reason why your dishwasher isn’t draining properly. If there is water flooding on your counter, then you will need to unclog your air gap. To clear the air gap simply take off the cap and get rid of any debris that are visible.

- Baking Soda
- Hot Water

- Pour the solution of baking soda and vinegar down the basket, located at the bottom of your dishwasher.
- Let the solution to sit for 10-15 minutes
- Pour a pot of hot boiling water down the basket and see if this unclogs the drain.
