Standard

Dish detergent has many other uses than to just clean your dishes believe it or not. Wouldn’t you like to have a multipurpose cleaner in your home rather than having multiple cleaners for single uses?

Here are some unique ways you can use your dish detergent.

  1. Remove grease stains on clothes

If you notice a grease stain on your clothing, rub a little dish detergent onto the stain and rinse it with warm water.

  1. Clean your kitchen and bathroom floors

Add two tablespoons of dish soap to a bucket of warm water. This solution is perfect for vinyl or tile flooring. Please avoid using dish soap on hardwood because it could warp the floor.

  1. De-grime patio furniture

Mix a solution of warm water with dish soap in a spray bottle and spray your greasy patio furniture. Then rinse the area with water and wipe down with a cloth or let it air dry.

  1. Shine your jewelry

Mix together dish sap with seltzer in a bowl, soak the jewelry in the solution for five minutes (or longer if your jewelry is really dirty) and mix it in there. Then use a soft brush to scrub greasy areas. This will help loose dirt and help make your jewelry shine.

  1. Clean hairbrushes and combs

Get rid of the build-up from hair products with a sudsy solution of a few drops of dish soap mixed with warm water.

  1. Launder hand-washable clothing

Use one tablespoon of dish soap in place of the detergent you would normally use to hand wash your delicates.

  1. Trap and kill fruit flies

To get rid of these pesky little flies, simply add three drop of dish soap to a bowl of vinegar. The solution will cut surface tension, so the flies will sink and drown.

  1. Remove stains on carpeting

To remove stains on carpet simply dissolve one tablespoon of dish soap into two cups of warm water, and blot the stained area on the clothing with a clean cloth. Repeat this until the stain is gone. Then sponge the area with cold water, and blot it dry with a clean cloth.

  1. Wipe down kitchen cabinets

Cupboards can get greasy over time. To remove these stains, add a little bit of dish soap to a spray bottle with water to get rid of the grime. Then rinse the area with a cloth and dry.

  1. Banish oil stain from concrete

If you notice oil stains on your concrete sidewalk or driveway dish soap can help combat it! Cover the stain with baking soda and then pour some dish soap over it. Scrub the area with a brush and let it soak for a few hours. Rinse the area with water then repeat this until the stain has been removed.
