Over 40,000 KitchenAid Electric Kettles Recalled

On February 20, 2018, Whirlpool has recalled KitchenAid electric kettles due to burn risks. According to Consumer Product Safety Commission, Whirlpool has received 98 reports in the U.S and Canada combined of separating handles. These can potentially burn you if the handle separates from the kettle which will cause hot contents to spill.


These electric kettles were sold at various online retailers from September 2013 through February 2018 ranging from $100- $120 dollars. These electric kettles can be found at Bed Bath & Beyond, Dillard’s, Kitchen Kaboodle, Target, Navy Exchange, Williams Sonoma and other retailers.

 


If your KitchenAid electric kettle is on the recall list you should immediately stop using the kettle and contact Whirlpool for a free replacement. You can find a full list to see if the model and serial numbers that were recalled at CPSC.
