Cleaning the Dryer!


Keeping the dryer maintained is extremely important. Without any maintenance, there could be serious consequences like a fire. To keep the dryer clean and working its best, make sure to keep up on the cleaning within the dryer. Read below for some cleaning tips about the dryer.

Before doing anything with the appliance, disconnect the power source and turn off your gas.

When taking the appliance apart, if there hasn’t been maintenance, there will be a lot of dust which has accumulated over time.

Check the seals for any blockage. If there are pets in the house, the seals may be overflowing with fur and hair. If you notice that there is a lot of dust blowing around in the laundry room or outside, make sure to check the outlet vent and when going outside, check the seals there too. All of these factors can lead to a huge fire hazard.

When cleaning the inside of the dryer, wear a face mask to protect yourself from the possible flying of dust, fur and any other particles that may be in there.

When looking around and cleaning, if there is lint or dust that is possibly burned, that may be the heating source so this place should be cleaned more frequently.

After grabbing all of the dust, go through with a damp paper towel and wipe up anything else that may have been missed.

Make sure to keep up on the dryer maintenance to keep the longevity of the dryer and the longevity of the house. If you don’t feel comfortable cleaning the dryer yourself, you can always call a repairman to help you out. Do anything to keep yourself and family safe.
