Welcome to our new series, every week we will be selecting a new part or product we sell and explaining its use and importance. This article will talk about Thermal fuses which are used for your drying machine. If your dryer is not heating it may be a faulty thermal. 1st Source Servall will explain how this part works and why it is important.

A thermal fuse is a safety part that’s purpose is to shut off the electrical flow that powers the heating mechanism when the exhaust becomes overheated. It is similar to an electrical fuse and it can’t be reset, it must be removed and replaced when it is worn out or broken.

Why am I having problems with my Ice Maker?

The three most common problems with ice makers are lake off ejecting the ice, leaking, and failing to make ice. Does this part work? | Using a Multimeter to Test for Continuity

Sometimes it’s easy to identify what part needs to replaced on your appliance because you can see the damage:  a torn gasket, a broken hinge, a cracked drawer.

But when it comes to electrical components like fuses, thermostats, switches, heating elements, and circuit boards it can be a bit trickier because you can’t just look at the part and see that it needs to be replaced.

The best thing to do is to test them with a volt-ohm, or multimeter.  Multimeters can be found in both digital and analog formats and allow you to quickly and easily check that the part is operating at the right resistance or has continuity.   Continue reading
