Get Your Appliances Ready for Colder Weather

Standard

This past year flew by pretty fast, hasn’t it? It’s already September, which also means that fall is right around the corner (3 weeks to be exact).  Since the seasons are changing we should also be changing some routines such as prepping your appliances for the cooler weather.

Dryers:

Before it gets colder out, now is the best time to check your dryer vents to ensure that they are free of clogs. This is a safety measure that should always be done routinely. A clogged dryer vent is one of the number one causes of dryer fires.

Refrigerator:

If you have a refrigerator outside for those cool summer nights and cookouts, remember to unplug your appliance when prepping for cooler weather. Leaving your appliance plugged in when the temperature drops might lead to your water/ice lines to freeze and will cause your refrigerator to heat up.

Oven:

If you don’t want to ruin a family dinner during a holiday or in general, have your oven thermostat checked out to make sure it is working efficiently

Grill:

Now that summer is almost over, it is a good idea to prepare your grill for cold weather. You should always clean your grill before you decide to store it away.
